Freelance writing is my fourth career after property manager, teacher, and school librarian. I have lived and worked all over the world (Thailand, Dubai, Russia, Vienna, Italy, Samoa) but am now happily settled in Portland, Oregon. After my kids and grandkids, I love travel, old houses, books and reading, walking, and photography. “Life is short, so don’t stack up regrets” pretty well sums up my philosophy of life.
I write mostly about travel, teaching overseas, and active aging. Good writing is everything: clean, clear, vivid, with touches of humor and personal story. My work has appeared in Transitions Abroad, Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Gresham Outlook Boomer supplement, School Library Journal, EuropeUpClose.com,Pacific Crest Trail Communicator, and WalkAbout Magazine. I’m also a photographer and you can see samples from a trip to Damascus and Aleppo before the never-ending war.
